Hospice care
The hospice offers 24 hour nursing care for ten patients. Patients are referred from home based care, doctors and hospitals around Tshwane or by word of mouth. A professional nurse supervises the hospice with the help of registered enrolled nurses and caregivers.
Stepdown
Stepdown care to very ill patients discharged from hospital but too ill to be treated at home. Patients are referred to EACH hospice from hospitals, clinics and doctors. The nursing care provided are the same as caring for a patient at hospital.
Home based care
Our home based care service is delivered to patients whose health is deteriorating and has a need for pain management and symptom control. A medical practitioner refers the patient to a hospital, and the nursing staff and doctors will sequentially identify patients to be referred to the hospice. Regular visits are conducted to patient’s homes and follow up plans are administered by professional nurses.
Respite care
Respite care for AIDS and cancer patients are provided to temporary relief family members who are caring for these patients. Respite care involves assistance for patients’ families to help them cope with the emotional and physical impact of the illness on family and provide care and support while patient is under hospice care. All services are provided on a cost free basis, but donations are welcomed.
Palliative care
The services cover palliative care to reduce the suffering of terminally ill patients as much as possible by means of medicine and overall patient care.
